Tours and school visits

Our indigenous artists, who have reclaimed their heritage as descendants of the |Xam, can give visitors a tour of the tapestries, explain some of the stories, and talk about their work. Group visits can be arranged, and sometimes public story-telling events are held to celebrate the mythology.

The museum entrance fee is R65 per person. Bookings are not needed for individuals, but we ask larger groups to book in advance.

We also host school visits tailored to young minds eager to explore the past. Each visit is meticulously planned to ensure that students are not only guided through the artworks but also engage in interactive learning sessions. Guided tours, led by our resident artists, provide in-depth narratives that foster curiosity and critical thinking. Additionally, hands-on workshops allow students to participate in creating their own artworks, making this living history tangible and exciting. More than just field trips, they are immersive journeys into the annals of our local history and lore, designed to inspire and educate.
